A Simple Concept to Change the Way You View Network Marketing

     It started off innocently enough, I had some free time while building my pet services business here in Ocala, Florida. I was also worried about making enough money, so I did some research and found a group that helps people who are otherwise network marketing inept build their own downlines as we join businesses together.  I loved meeting the people who were in the group, listening to the team calls and learning more about networking and sharing with other like-minded people.  The concept is simply to use the products you get each month on your auto ship and to tell others about the group and the business opportunity.

     The more I thought about that idea, the more it just made sense to consider direct sales as a way to make money.  I've always struggled in the past with any type of direct sales, because it was too hard to get more people "under" me to join the business aspect, and I had trouble just  "selling" the products because, well, I didn't USE them myself.  It is hard to sell something that you don't have personal interest in, and in the past, I have never used any of the products I was trying to sell. I just figured that "when I begin to make money" I would then invest in the products myself, but until then, I couldn't afford to.

     This time, when listening to the team calls, I learned from the expert marketers in the group that having an auto ship each month of a certain amount optimizes your earning potential once you began to build a team. The basis for making money in direct sales is the movement of products, so each member who joins the business opportunity has to get at least the minimum auto ship every month.

     This made sense to me, and one particular product, a protein shake, was very appealing to me because I had been thinking of trying it as a way to lose weight for awhile.  I just hadn't purchased any brand yet, but considered going to Sam's Club or Walgreen's or somewhere to grab whatever I found.  When I joined the business opportunity with Ready Built Downline, I figured I might as well get the shake as my auto ship since I had to get SOMETHING on the auto ship.  As time went on, I began to enjoy my auto ship products from the business each month and learned more about the health benefits of each of them. 
    
     At first I worried a bit about paying for the auto ship, but when I began looking at it as an investment each month, it started to make more sense.  Sure this is money out of my pocket each month, but I am getting a good product that has proven health benefits, and when I tell others about it, if they decide to use it too, I can get paid!   That certainly doesn't happen if I purchase a product from Sam's Club and tell anyone about it and they go get it too. No retail entity I know has ever rewarded me or anyone else financially for referring someone to a product they sell.

     It took me a couple months before the light bulb went off, but it finally DID go off, thank the Lord.  The best way to make money at direct sales is to use the product and tell people about it.  There doesn't have to be any hard sell or nagging of the family members or stepping out of the comfort zone.  Just use the products, find a few that you really like, use them regularly and share your experience with others. Heck, you might even go as far as to share some of the product with your friends or family, or even acquaintances who seem interested.  I recently decided to send some of my favorite products to my parents and a few friends back in Iowa.  Not because I am desperate to make a sale, but because I really BELIEVE in the product and want share it with the people I care about!!!!  Your enthusiasm will catch on and before long, you will have your customers and your down line, and you won't have done anything other than  Use the products and tell others about them!!!!  

     This simple but elusive concept has changed my entire perspective about direct sales and network marketing.  No longer am I daunted by the idea of having to build a team so I can make money.  I don't even think about that.  Instead, I go about my daily life and share my epiphany with others, hoping that they too will "get" it.  There will always be those who don't understand or aren't interested, but there will also be those who DO understand and who DO get it.  The more excited you get about whatever you are doing, the less you care what others think and the more you just "do" it and talk about it.  People will catch your excitement when it is genuine and be drawn to you.  That is when you share your story and naturally start building a team without even trying.
